Bayern Munich going head to head with Real Madrid this year for the possible quarter-final clash would give football fans delight especially the curlers who have been recently tormented by the Bavarian outfits in every possible Champions League clash. Bayern has a great history when it comes to Europe, The Bavarian outfit has been crowned champions for the 6th time back in 2020 after a 1-0 victory against Paris Saint-Germain.
Much to popular dismay the current favourites being the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and even Napoli to some extent, Bayern would not be too much concerned about not being put the title contender as all it brings is extra pressure.
Bayern Munich at the beginning half of the 2022-23 season did trail in the home domestic matches where their star signing of Sadio Mane was not producing the result they wanted with Mane also going on to question the tactics of the Head Coach. With the team struggling against the newly promoted team of Union Berlin, there was a question arising over the future of Julian Nagelsmann.
But in Europe, everything seemed under control for the Bavarians with Bayern Munich winning comfortably their matches against Inter Milan and Barcelona which was said to be the toughest group in the group's stage.
After the season progressed Bayern Munich did Bayern Munich things, Kept their heads up and went on their matches fiercely now they sit at the top of their table with 2 points clear of Borussia Dortmund. Keep in mind they lost their main firepower in Robert Lewandowski this year to Barcelona. Bayern Munich had hoped to replace Lewandowski's goals with Sadio Mane but it's former PSG man Chuopo-Moting who has been delivering the goals.
Chuopo-Moting's rise has been very crucial for Bayern Mucich and his rise did come at a perfect opportunity when Bayern was lacking that firepower and Sadio Mane went out injured at the beginning of the World Cup.
Chuopo-Moting's performance against Barcelona, PSG has been excellent him securing a goal against his former side too. Surely the quality Lewandowski had might not be replicated but their performance isn't below par either.
With the strong defence pairing of Upamenco and De-Legit Bayern Munich seems like a force to be reckoned with. Bayern Munich also has top-quality full-backs in Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard, and even Cancelo from Manchester City. Pacey fullbacks like Cancelo and Davies make the opposition work hard to stop the counterattacks.
Even when it comes to mentality Bayern isn't weak either. They have the mentality to stay strong as a team when things don't go their way. their comeback in the second half of the League and replacing Lewandowski so quickly has been proof of it.
Bayern does have a history of surprising everyone in the Champions League the 2020 Champions League roadmap was one example of that.
