For 2022 La Liga was purely bagged in by Real Madrid defeating their fiercest rival FC Barcelona. Real Madrid won it with a very comfortable margin, for the first half of the season Real Madrid had little competition for the top spot.
It was also due to the poor run of form from Barcelona that Real Madrid was able to just run away with the title, with Barcelona picking up the form very late in the season.
Not this year though, La Liga seems to be at its best with the top two teams of the league fighting each and every game. Barcelona after the spending spree they had in the summer would be hoping to bag the 2023 La Liga title at least.
Can there be a showdown till the last game of the season?
With the expectation from the La Liga, Real Madrid and Barcelona have fought much of the season for titles till the last game.
With Real Madrid being victorious at some while Barcelona or others some time. But a close title fight cannot be discounted between the two. Barcelona lacked major firepower for a couple of seasons now, which has left them incapable to compete for trophies.
But as we know there have been some serious arrivals this summer in Barcelona. They have managed to land their primary target, A very established player of the game Robert Lewandowski, and players like Marcus Alonso, Jules Kounde, Christiansen, Frank Kessie, Raphinha etc. They had a strong summer transfer window where they strengthened their squad in every position.
While Real Madrid might not have that much Summer transfer activity, they still have a squad that is very strong and capable of winning trophies like they did in 2022.
Their major addition to the team this summer has been Arlumien Tchoumeni from AS Monaco and Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea for free. With these additions, Real Madrid seems to have strengthened their Midfield and Defence.

With red hot form in front of Goal Karim Benzema guided that Real Madrid team in winning the Champions League. But he got little or no competition from anyone in Barcelona, Barcelona were in serious mud when Ronald Koeman was in charge Some pundits claimed that even qualifying for the Champions League would be a miracle for Barcelona. Things started to clear out when Xavi was made the head coach mid-season.
This year might be different as Barcelona have a prized possession in front of the attack in Robert Lewandowski, This year we have a high chance we can witness a fierce rivalry in terms of goal-scoring competition.
