Manchester United looks to be back on winning ways after an inconsistent run of spells pre and post-international break. For any United fan, the match against Newcastle United was the most depressing one. Newcastle dominated United both on the pitch and on the scoreboard by winning the match with a 2-goal margin. Pre-international break in the cup games (Europa League & FA Cup) United won both games but in Premier League they not only drew against Southhampton but also Casemero the key man of this United side received a red card and earned a 4 match suspension of which 3 has been played post international break.
ARE GOOD TIMES RETURNING SLOWLY?
Manchester United after the depressing performance against Newcastle won 2 games in a row and one is against Brentford who isn't a joke this season as they thrashed us 4-0 at the start of the season from our defensive mistakes. Rashford was the only scorer against Brentford in the first half in which we dominated the pace of the game. In the second half United looked a little out of control a reason that can be we are missing players like Casemero and Garnacho who especially have been known to bring impact in the second half and; another can be due to fatigue from playing games in short intervals while having a thin squad strength. After that, we beat Everton with a two-goal margin and guess the scorers, yes!! it was Mactominay and Martial. Finally Martial is back in the squad after consecutive injuries and scored a goal as well, making us feel the presence of a no. 9 which Weghorst was not able to do exactly. Mactominay gets his club goal as well after he was in a scoring mood during the international break as well.
RASHFORD INJURY & SEVILLA CHALLENGE:
Unfortunately, Rashford picked up a groin injury during the match, and in the post-match conference, Ten Hag looked a bit worried. Of course if his main man forward who has been on a scoring spree this season gets injured before a crucial Europa League match against defending champions Sevilla it is definitely a thing to worries. But one good thing is Casemiro will return in this European competition and provide much-needed stability on the midfield again with Eriksen who too made an appearance in the Everton game after a long injury and Sabitzer. It would be really interesting to watch when these 3 play together.
OWNERSHIP SAGA:
On the ownership saga, it is being heard from the sources that United would accept a 3rd round of bids. But the future of the club's ownership and state of the club looms in darkness.
THANK YOU.
