Updated: Jul 27, 2023

Barcelona vs Juventus

Barcelona vs Juventus has been a battle to remember in recent years as Cristiano Ronaldo was still a Juventus player when Juventus faced Barcelona. Leo Messi too was a Barcelona player. These two players alone created a rivalry very few had expected in world football.

Even though Juventus won the last match played between the two giant club there has been intense battles between the two historical clubs recently.

The main battle can be said was the Champions League Final which Barcelona won 1-3 lifting a treble and winning their 5th Champions League Final with a world-class trio of Neymar, Suarez and Messi.

Juventus has been a European elite for quite some time now. They have dominated the Italian League as they have swept the League titles since 2010.

Juventus also has been able to reach Champions League two times in 2015 and 2017, unfortunately, they have been beaten both times by a Spanish Club.

With Barcelona dominating La Liga, winning 8 La Liga in 10 years, Barcelona was a force to be reckoned with as they were ruthless under Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique. They heavily dominated Europe and domestic leagues.

Juventus boosted lots of world-class players. Paul Pogba was the world's costliest transfer before Neymar beat that record by signing for Paris Saint-Germain for reportedly 222 million dollars.

Juventus also had the world-famous defence trio of BBC Bonucci, Bargazali, and Chiellini. whereas Barcelona boosted the famous Spanish midfield trio of Sergio Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. Whenever these two clubs meet it was Defense vs. Midfield.

yet Barcelona has the best of Attackers trio too, with arguably the greatest of all time in Lionel Messi.

Apart from that final victory in 2015, Barcelona has not been able to get past their Italian rival as they were humiliatingly eliminated by Juventus in the 2017 Champions League with a loss of 0-3 margin.

Their recent head-to-head has also been humiliating for Barcelona as they were thrashed by Juventus 0-3 in Camp Nou.
